Award-winning architecture

The Istanbul Merter is designed by the esteemed architects Gökhan Avcıoğlu & GAD with a concept that adds value to the city. The project is designed with outstanding features that leverage functionality, aesthetics and environmentally friendliness, and with these features was awarded with the Green Good Design Award which honors the world’s best sustainable green design projects.

"This initiative which we first developed in the Zeytinburnu district constituted an exemplary investment in the industry. The second project of this initiative, planned in one of Istanbul’s major business districts, Merter, is designed on approximately 6-acres as a medium height building. The plan scheme, the materials used and the office environment foreseen in scope of the project distinguish it from the conventional office structures of our century. It further offers competent abilities, thanks to its technology and sustainable approach.

While displaying a single-block structure that uses the land at its maximum, the interior consists of four individual blocks and three courtyards that connect the blocks. Unlike the monolithic inclinations of today’s office buildings, the fragmented structure blocks facilitate this structure. The visual lightness created by the transparent façade brings the outside view to the working space while its design exploits natural ventilation and day light. Photovoltaic panels maximize solar energy, and provide protection against sound and wind. Occupancy rates, perception of the interior and exterior, light and natural ventilation parameters provide the main criteria in selecting the material for the façade.

Factors such as leveraging daylight, natural ventilation, green areas and usage of public spaces are analyzed in scope of future projections to create the backbone of sustainable design strategies.

The middle courtyard that connects the green area on an elevated level to the common spaces offers a lush green environment that almost cannot be found in any of the neighboring buildings. The green roof helps to reduce carbon dioxide consumption and to balance temperature.

We introduce you a sustainable building, whether for your own use or for investment."
